Fuel Automation

Powered by the Octo Fueling System

Fully automated, self-contained fuel management for frac pads and oilfield operations. Benz Oil Company’s Fuel Automation system combines the Octo fueling platform with a high-capacity auxiliary tank to provide continuous fuel supply, wireless monitoring, and around-the-clock support.

Key facts:

  • 24,500 gallons standard total capacity.
  • 27 hose reels.
  • Dual-stage fuel filtration.
  • 24/7 monitoring.

System Overview

The system pairs a primary Octo fueling hub with an auxiliary dyed-fuel tank to support pumps, blenders, and pump-down units across the pad.

Component Specification
Octo clear-fuel tank2,000 gallons for on-road / clear diesel
Octo clear-fuel tank6,500 gallons for on-road / clear diesel
Auxiliary dyed-fuel tank16,000 gallons
Standard total capacity24,500 gallons
Optional additional auxiliary tank15,000 gallons
Total capacity with optional tank39,500 gallons
Hose reels27 total: 25 dyed diesel and 2 clear diesel
Hose length450 feet per reel; 12,150 feet combined

Dual-Stage Filtration

Fuel is filtered when transferred from the auxiliary tank to the Octo hub and again when dispensed from the hub to pad equipment. This two-stage process helps protect engine components from contamination and reduce maintenance needs.

Wireless Monitoring

Wireless sensors installed in equipment fuel tanks report real-time fuel levels to the Octo hub through radio telemetry, supporting proactive, automated fuel management around the clock.

How It Works

  1. Deploy: The self-contained Octo hub and auxiliary tank arrive on the pad ready for operation.
  2. Connect: Connect the hose reels to pumps, blenders, and pump-down units, using 25 lines for dyed diesel and two for clear diesel.
  3. Monitor: Wireless sensors report equipment fuel levels to the Octo hub in real time, 24/7.
  4. Automate: The system manages fuel distribution based on live equipment demand to maintain continuous supply.
  5. Resupply: A dedicated site truck keeps auxiliary pad equipment fueled around the clock, supported by two trained operators per shift.

Why Benz Oil Fuel Automation?
